The Problem & Goal

The Health tab of the Jiahui Health app received very few visits from users. Many found the page lacking in relevant features, and its outdated design did not encourage users to engage with the available health tools.

The goal is to increase active users on the Health Page by adding more health management features and improving the overall interface to make it more appealing, functional, and accessible for users.

Role & Responsibilities

I was the sole product designer of the project and was responsible for:

  • Analyzing existing traffic data and identifying reasons for low engagement on the Health Page
  • Adding new health management features such as Blood Pressure Monitoring, Glucose Management, and Medication Guidance.
  • Redesigning the Health Page's layout and structure to make the new features more visible and accessible.
  • Conducting usability testing to ensure the new design met user needs and improved overall engagement.

Persona

Yanxun is a 35 year-old working professional and mother of two, who uses the Jiahui Health app to manage both her own and her family's health. She seeks personalized health tips, especially related to family wellness and preventive care. With a busy lifestyle, Yanxun values quick and efficient access to relevant health content and monitoring tools. She is moderately tech-savvy and prefers apps that are easy to navigate and provide practical health advice. Her main goal is to keep her family healthy while managing her own well-being without feeling overwhelmed by too much information.

Impact

The redesigned Health page of the Jiahui Health app led to a substantial improvement in video engagement. The average views per video increased from 354 to 579 within three months, reflecting a 63.56% growth. This was achieved by reorganizing the page layout to prioritize video content, making it more accessible and appealing to users.
The introduction of new health management features and the streamlined design further contributed to user satisfaction. Feedback from usability testing revealed that over 85% of participants found the updated interface intuitive and appreciated the clear categorization of health topics. Additionally, the redesign helped attract new users to the Health Page, with a 13% increase in overall page traffic.
